JustDelegate is committed to transparency about AI use in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and emerging AI governance best practices.
1. What is JustDelegate AI?
JustDelegate uses artificial intelligence to power chatbots and phone agents for businesses. When you interact with a JustDelegate-powered assistant on a website or over the phone, you are communicating with an AI system, not a human.
We believe you have the right to know when AI is involved in your interactions. This page explains how our AI works, what data it uses, and what your rights are.
2. How It Works
- —Our AI reads and understands your questions using large language models (LLMs)
- —It searches the business's knowledge base (documents, FAQs, product info) for relevant information
- —It generates a response based on what it found in the knowledge base
- —If it cannot find an answer, it will say so and offer to connect you with a human
- —For phone calls, the AI uses voice synthesis to speak naturally and speech recognition to understand your responses
3. What Data We Use
- —Your chat or voice messages (to generate relevant responses)
- —Your name, email, or phone (if you provide them in a pre-chat form — used to identify you for follow-up)
- —Conversation history within the same session (so the AI remembers context from earlier in the conversation)
- —The business's knowledge base documents (uploaded by the business, not your personal data)
4. What We Don't Do
- —We don't use your conversations to train AI models without explicit consent
- —We don't sell your personal information to third parties
- —We don't make automated decisions about credit, employment, insurance, or any legally significant matters
- —We don't store your data longer than necessary (see our Privacy Policy for retention periods)
- —We don't share your conversation data with businesses you haven't interacted with
5. Human Oversight
- —All AI agents are configured and monitored by the business that deployed them
- —Content moderation systems flag problematic or potentially harmful responses
- —You can always request to speak with a human — just say “I'd like to speak to a human”
- —Business owners can review all conversations in their dashboard
- —JustDelegate conducts regular reviews of AI agent quality and safety
6. Limitations
- —AI responses may contain errors or inaccuracies — always verify important information directly with the business
- —AI cannot provide legal, medical, or financial advice
- —AI may not have the latest information if the knowledge base hasn't been updated recently
- —AI works best with clear, specific questions
- —Phone call quality may vary depending on your connection and background noise
7. Your Rights
- —You can request a copy of your conversation data from the business or from JustDelegate directly
- —You can request deletion of your data by contacting hello@justdelegate.ai
- —You can opt out of AI interactions at any time by requesting a human instead
- —You can request to speak with a human rather than AI at any point during a conversation
- —You can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au

8. Automated Decision-Making
JustDelegate AI generates conversational responses only. It does not make automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on individuals.
If a business uses our AI in a way that affects your rights (such as booking appointments or capturing enquiries), a human can always review and override the outcome. We encourage businesses deploying our AI to maintain meaningful human oversight of all consequential decisions.
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to know when AI is involved in processing your personal information and to request human review.
9. Third-Party AI Providers
JustDelegate uses the following third-party AI services to deliver our product. Each has their own privacy practices:
- —Anthropic (Claude) — language model for chat responses
- —OpenAI — language model and embedding services
- —Vapi.ai — voice AI infrastructure for phone agents
- —Pinecone — vector database for knowledge base search
We have data processing agreements with each provider and require them to meet our privacy and security standards.
